Went to this show with my mom and my sister. I cherish and hold the memories from that night near and dear to my heart.
Alice Cooper is a legendary American rocker who has been shocking and entertaining audiences for over five decades. His original name is Vincent Furnier, and he grew up in a Mormon family.
He took on the stage name Alice Cooper in the early 1970s and has using it ever since. He is most recognized for his macabre and frightening onstage persona, as well as singles like "I'm Eighteen" and "Hello Hooray."
Alice Cooper is often referred to as “The Godfather of Shock Rock.” Shock Rock is a unique genre because it brings attention not only to the music but also to live and staged theatrics that are designed to shock the audience.
Cooper is also considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal music, being one of the first to experiment with heavier sounds and shocking imagery in his music. As a result, he’s often considered a major influence on later shock rock, heavy metal, and related genres including horrcore, punk rock, glam rock, industrial metal, art rock, black metal, death metal, and much more.
Alice Cooper was born on February 4, 1948, which makes him 76 years old today.
Despite the fact that Alice Cooper was born in Detroit, Michigan, he spent the majority of his childhood in a wealthy suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.
Alice Cooper still resides in Phoenix, Arizona where he’s lived for the majority of his life.
Alice Cooper's net worth is $50 million. He has amassed this large fortune from music sales, tours, merchandise and endorsements. Because of his vast wealth, Alice Cooper is considered to be one of the richest rock stars in the world.
In 1964 while still in high school, Alice Cooper, then known as Vincet Furnier, gathered four of his friends and started the band “Earwigs” in order to compete in their school’s annual talent show. Soon thereafter, they renamed themselves “The Spiders” and in 1967 renamed themselves a second time to “Nazz.”
However, because Tod Rundgren was also in a band called Nazz, the group changed their name a third time to Alice Cooper. Furnier embraced this name as his on-stage persona and continued using it long after the Alice Cooper band broke up in 1973.
Alice Cooper performs the role of Herod, the Tetrarch of Galilee, in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Cooper brings a sense of pathos to the character that makes him more than just the two-dimensional villain seen in the Bible. As a result, Cooper's Herod is one of the most memorable characters in the musical.
In the 2012 film Dark Shadows directed by Tim Burton, Cooper made a cameo appearance as himself, performing at a party at the Collinwood estate and appearing in several scenes throughout the movie. His performance was praised by critics, with some even calling it one of his best.
Alice Cooper has been sober since he completed a stint in rehab in 1983. He has been open about his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction and has been an advocate for sobriety ever since he got clean.
Alice Cooper has three children with his wife Sheryl: Calico, Dashiell, and Sonora. The couple divorced in 1983 but reconciled soon after. All three of Alice Cooper's children have followed in their father's footsteps and pursued careers in the entertainment industry.
Alice Cooper has had 3,186 concerts.
Alice Cooper is most often considered to be Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Blues Rock, Heavy Metal, Album Oriented Rock (AOR), New Wave, Garage Rock, Glam Metal, Glam Rock, Estados Unidos, Protopunk, Detroit Rock, and Shock Rock.
The next Alice Cooper concert is on July 01, 2024 at Stadionpark Nürnberg in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. The bands performing are: Alice Cooper / The Black Mirrors.
