Guns N' Roses (G N' R) released its debut album "Appetite for Destruction" in 1987. It featured Slash on lead guitar, Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar, Duff McKagan on bass guitar, Steven Adler on drums and percussion, and Axl Rose on vocals. Dizzy Reed joined as a pianist in 1990. By 1996, all except Rose and Reed had left the band. Adler was fired in 1990 due to a heroin addiction while Stradlin quit shortly after the release of the double album "Use Your Illusion" in 1991. Slash and McKagan followed suit in 1996. Guns N' Roses remained intact, though it only toured sporadically until the Chinese Democracy Tour (2001-2011). 25 years after the release of "The Spaghetti Incident?"(1993), Gun N' Roses released its sixth studio album "Chinese Democracy" (2008). In 2016, Slash and McKagan returned, joining Rose, Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Melissa Reese for the Not In This Lifetime Tour. Guns N' Roses paused touring during the COVID pandemic but returned to touring in 2021.
