Schroothoop ("junk yard") are a Belgian jazz trio who use homemade instruments made from scrap, illegally dumped trash, and other discarded objects found on the streets of Brussels. Their music is inspired by New Orleans jazz, traditional North African and Afro-Cuban folk music, and the maqam of Arabic music.
