Steve Augeri (born January 30, 1959) is an American rock singer who is most famously known as the lead singer of Journey between 1998 and 2006. Prior to joining Journey, Augeri performed with several other groups: in 1984 he was the background vocalist for Micahel Shenker (UFO, Scorpions), and, in 1990, he formed Tall Stories with Kevin Totian, Tom de Faria, and Jack Morer. When Tall Stories disbanded in 1995, Augeri joined Tyketto acting as the lead vocalist on 1995's Shine and 1996's Take Out and Served Up Live. The band broke up in 1996, and Agueri took up carpentry for a couple of years before joining Journey in 1998. Since 2010, he's led the Steve Augeri Band.
