Matt Pond PA is an American indie rock and chamber pop band fronted by singer-songwriter Matt Pond, known for evocative lyrics, introspective storytelling, and lush, melodic instrumentation. Formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1998, the band has operated as a collaborative project with an ever-evolving lineup, remaining anchored by Pond alongside core multi-instrumentalist and producer Chris Hansen. Despite the "PA" suffix nodding to Pennsylvania, Matt Pond himself actually grew up in Hanover, New Hampshire.
