Si Laura Pleasants ne manque pas de charme, nul ne contestera la haute teneur en testostérone de la musique de ces équarisseurs originaires de Savannah. Né sur les cendres du collectif punk-bruitiste Damad, Kylesa prend vie en 2001 lorsque la chanteuse se joint aux musiciens pour s’adonner à leurs penchants métalliques et gutturaux. Une flopée d’EP et trois albums studio s’en suivent, dans lesquels le combo brasse avec une force de persuasion digne de la charge d’un panzer déchaîné hardcore, metal, sludge et stoner. Soutenu par une section rythmique de tous les diables (deux batteurs se chargent de propulser la machine), Kylesa vitrifie l’auditeur à coup de guitares pesantes et adipeuses. Dûment approuvée par les cadors avec lesquels elle a partagé l’affiche (Torche, Baroness, High On Fire, Mastodon), la formation participe avec moult arguments au renouveau de la scène heavy rock nord-américaine.  stephenhuerta 03/01/2026, Update: Wow!, what a fuckin’ hot show this was. Two stages, but I only concentrated on the main stage. And there’s a reason for that. Thanks to Román and Juan Tamayo, they reserved me a seat in the VIP Viewing Section. Once I sat down, I didn’t want to move and lose my location, which was excellent, it was everything I expected. I arrived at the venue at 12:30pm, early as usual. It made for a long day though, but it’s cool. All of the bands were on fire, the ones that stole the show were Mephistofeles and Pelican. I must admit, I wasn’t too impressed by Primitive Man, I was expecting something else. Appcalipsis was a good opening band, then came Mephistofeles, from Argentina, making their Mexico debut. I’m so glad I saw that, it’s the band that I wanted to see. What can I say about Pelican, that hasn’t been said already. They were fuckin’ hot. I still liked their San Francisco Fillmore show better, I guess because it was my first time seeing them, and their second Bay Area performance in 11 years, it was their second SF debut, that’s why. As usual, YOB were great, they too made their Mexico debut at this festival. All in all, a great time. I saw Gerardo and Juan and Román, it was great! Doom City Fest Mar 02, 2026

 Shru Maximus A couple of sites list this show on this date as being held at the Beacham Theater in Orlando, but I went and I can picture them in my head playing the Plus Three in Longwood, Florida which was just north of Orlando off Hwy 1792.  Alpoh Impetus festival & le SAS de Delémont présentent Né des cendres du groupe culte suédois Breach, maîtres du post-hardcore européen des années 90, Terra Tenebrosa est en passe de devenir l’un des groupes majeurs de la scène internationale des musiques déviantes et divergentes. Un univers mystérieux, lugubre, dérangeant, des guitares acérées, des compos au caractère affirmé, le dernier opus des suédois, « The Purging », les placent très haut dans la galaxie des musiques extrêmes. The Old Wind est l’autre projet monté par les musiciens de Breach, auquel se greffe l’un des guitaristes de The Ocean. On y retrouve les ingrédients qui ont fait la matrice du son des suédois : lourd, puissant, marécageux avec des vocaux hyper émotionnels. En ouverture de cette soirée, le festival a le plaisir d’accueillir les suisses de Coilguns, autre membre de la prolifique écurie Pelagic Records.
