Godot Jan 10, 2023 - Montreal Welcome to Canada! Hope the tour goes well. This was the first night of their 2023 tour. The band were excellent ... a couple of what looked like first-night hiccups but nothing that won't get cleaned up over the next couple of shows. However. What the sound and lighting techs did was close to criminal. Lighting was pretentious, primitive, and poor. Tom and Lewis were in complete darkness 75% of the time; back-lit as silhouettes 15% of the time, and half-light the remaining 10%. Their visual guitar playing was completely lost. Even worse was the same lighting for Florence - her singing is part of a performance that involves gestures, mannerisms, expressions, and body language. All these subtleties were completely lost in the shadows most of the time. At times it looked like a high school stage with as much random colour and flashing lights as possible, most of them badly positioned. Someone should message the lighting tech that sometimes 'Less is more' Sound Why was Florence's sound so bad? It was impossible to hear her semi-spoken lyrics and vocalizations. Their songs rely on the distinctiveness of the vocals but these were drowned out by the instruments (which were phenomenal), but the sound needs to balance these two elements and that was completely lost. I loved seeing the band and wish them well, and if they (or whoever) can sort out the sound and light I don't doubt they will have an awesome tour. Godot Dry Cleaning / Nourished By Time Jan 11, 2023
Bob Stell The Divinyls big hit was “I touch myself” I remember it being shocking that lead singer Chrissy Amohlett simulated masturbation by slightly touching her crotch several times during that song. Tame by today’s standards. She also snatched a woman’s purse from the front row and took it onstage emptying its contents and tossing them around. The Cult / Divinyls Jan 11, 2023
Bob Stell “The Cruzado’s” opened for INXS this night, Ignore my comment about Divinyls, that was a different concert. INXS / The Cruzados Jan 11, 2023

Bob Stell Opening was Divinyls, who’s big hit was “I Touch Myself”. I remember at one point, lead singer Chrissy Amphlett grabbed some woman’s purse, took it onstage and went through it & tossed the contents all over the place INXS / The Cruzados Jan 11, 2023

naterie I will always remember this show because we were standing in the balcony and looked over to see none other than Metallica's Rob Trujillo (and possibly other bandmates) next to us in the VIP section just jamming away to Mars Volta and Rob was air drumming. Come to find out that Metallica was in town that same weekend for the Summer Sanitarium show. Pretty surreal. The Mars Volta / Saul Williams / Rye Coalition Jan 11, 2023
VJ One of the loudest concerts I’ve ever been to (maybe the loudest). Possibly most pyrotechnics as well. Felt heat from my seat mid-floor section. KISS / Shinedown Jan 11, 2023

OPAGOD Yea I at last minute lucked out... and took my wife to her first Pink Floyd show... Floor 7th row end seats... and since they were just by sheer luck not sold and were comps to a guest regular priced... I think 20-30 each. Those seats were 200 easy and it was sold out for a while. Walked up to Sear in Ridgmar and said hey Pink Floyd... and she is like that is sold out... but she out of habit was pulling up and said.. hey wait there are 2 7th row floor and said 70ish and I was... my friends who already had tix... nose bleed and were like fuck you we waited all day and night and its sold out... 7th row floor... I was offered cash to trade... I was like no way I am not passing up the best seats ever to PF show the last song... Run Like Hell it came down hard... running like hell... great show!
