 Rock's In My Head Paul Dud: Sorry you never heard of them earlier. The Bros played NY regularly before you saw them in late 71. They were not NEW as you state, only new to the uninitiated. You most likely saw them at Academy of Music after the live lp came out. Check out a copy of Duane jamming with the DEAD at Fillmore in 70, amazing stuff. and what I wrote is all true.  Paul Dud There are rocks in your head ! Do you really expect people to believe the bullshit story you post about Duane Allman ? I saw them at a concert in N.Y.C. , summer 1971. We were stoned,, I do not remember the concert hall or the date. I did not know their names at the time. They were new to New York City and rock n roll at the time. Hardly no one knew them until the end of 1971 ! Sad that Duane's death had made them more popular. Had Duane lived another 10 years longer , Led Zepplin and the Who would have second to the Allman Brothers and the Band during the 1970's. ! In one of his last interviews on youtube, Frank admits, that the doctors made sure they didn't tell him he had cancer until it was too late ! FZ got what he deserved in the end !  Acey68 Great Sunday night show in this intimate venue. Heavy on the Black Crowes, ending with a euphoric,crowd pleasing My Morning Song. The middle acoustic set contained an appropriate Sunday night Buttermilk Waltz, played brilliantly by Marc and Rich, followed by a treat. Rich singing better than ever on Bob Dylan's Girl from the North Country. Mixing in their own songs as well as great choices of covers made it a well balanced show, that delivered the small crowd a joyous night of music.  annsam First time I heard ATDI. Went to see knapsack at a small show in OC. Hanging out in the back while this opening band came on. The energy they projected drew me up front with to other 20 people watching them. Their set blew my fucking mind. Siphoned all the energy from the room by the end of their set.  Acey68 The Crowd during the Foghat set(the opener) was preety subdued. They sat quietly and listened without much excitement @ this smaller venue(about 5 K). I was sitting up close to the stage,within 3 rows, when a fight broke out up front, probably drunks fighting over spilt beer or a girl. the crowd was energized by this fight, and everyone came to there feet and rushed the stage, I was right up against stage at this point. The band was obviously entertained and happy by the turn of events, and the rest of the set was ramped up to another level, which continued into the Molly Hatchet set. The fight between drunks turned a ho hum show into a very good time and thats why you go to shows, for the excitement, you cant beat a high of a live show experience, and you never know what will happen.
