Martin Delaney A very special gig and Shirley Manson herself ahead of the gig "To be asked to grace the stage with Edinburgh Castle as our backdrop will be, without doubt, one of the greatest honours of my professional career.” Goodbye Mr Mackenzie got the crowd suitably warmed up with a short but very good set. Highlights for me were them coming on to the Julee Cruise song Mysteries of Love and launching into Open Your Arms. The Rattler and Goodbye Mr Mackezie sounded particularly good on the big stage at Edinburgh Castle. Before Garbage entered the stage we were treated to a surprise appearance by a pipe band who played Flower of Scotland for us, very cool. Garbage also came to a Twin Peaks song Laura Palmer's Theme Tune which was cool. It was great to see Shirley in full highland dress and the whole band in kilts. Song highlights for me I Think I'm Paranoid, Stupid Girl, It's All Over But The Crying, Lovesong, Push It. And of course, Only Happy When It Rains and it actually did start raining just before they played it, could not have been more perfect. The 'Scottish' weather did not spoil anyone's enjoyment as the rain held off until near the end. It actually added to the atmosphere and when they lit the torches of the castle it looked very eerie and cool. Garbage / Goodbye Mr. MacKenzie Jul 13, 2026

rossdougal From https://edinburghgigarchive.com/leith-town-hall-citadel/ "This 1975 gig was apparently a bit of a ground zero gig for Edinburgh with quite a few in attendance going on to form what would become well known Edinburgh bands."  TheFakeItalian The last time I saw Sammy Hagar was when he fronted Van Halen supporting Bon Jovi back in 1995 at Wembley Stadium and prior to that was at Bristol Colston Hall in 1980. Support was Jayler, who were really good, very Led Zeppelinish/ Greta Van Fleet..Sammy Hagar certainly rocked, giving a setlist from his Montrose days through to Van Halen and some of his own material. Great guitaring with Joe Satriana..it was a very pricey ticket ..but really good concert, with Hagar giving out a lot of energy Sammy Hagar / Jayler Jul 13, 2026

ConcertStuff The Cars played at Woody's both on Friday and Saturday. Woody's is in Western Mass and none of us had heard of them but we had no other plans and we frequently go to Woody's. We were completely blown away and went back on Saturday. They played 3 sets, the first 2 were all different songs. When they came rout for the 3rd set they said we played all our songs and we don't do covers so we are going to play some of the songs from the first 2 sets if that is OK! So between the 2 days I got to hear some of their big fist 4 times. I will always remember that weekend and have been a huge fan since them. The Cars Jul 12, 2026
