Bill Mair The Beatles live: Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Canada Tuesday 17 August 1965 Live The Beatles performed two shows at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada, on this day. They had previously played at the venue on 7 September 1964, and returned for a third and final time on 17 August 1966. Ticket for The Beatles at the Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Canada, 17 August 1965. The group flew from New York to Toronto in the Lockheed Electra aeroplane chartered by Brian Epstein from American Flyers for this 1965 US tour. They arrived in the morning and were taken to the King Edward Sheraton hotel. News that The Beatles were staying at the Sheraton had become known to fans, and dozens booked themselves rooms in the hope of meeting the group. Each of the two shows was seen by 18,000 people. The Beatles played for 27 minutes. Their set contained 12 songs: a shortened version of ‘Twist And Shout’, followed by ‘She’s A Woman’, ‘I Feel Fine’, ‘Dizzy Miss Lizzy’, ‘Ticket To Ride’, ‘Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby’, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’, ‘Baby’s In Black’, ‘Act Naturally’, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Help!’ and ‘I’m Down’. The other acts on the tour were, in order of appearance, Brenda Holloway and the King Curtis Band, Cannibal & The Headhunters, and Sounds Incorporated. The Beatles Nov 24, 2024

Bill Mair December 6, 1975 Opening Night of the Pontiac Silverdome Pontiac MI During the show the main floor crowd surged forward causing a crush near the front of the stage. Pete admonished the crowd to move back saying "Its fucking blood and guts up here!". During band introductions, when Keith's name was announced, he came flying out from behind the drums, did a somersault and leaped into the air! It was the first major rock show for the Pontiac Silverdome, then new home for the Detroit Lions and Pistons. Led Zeppelin would set a single concert gross record there a few years later of over $1,000,000. Pontiac Silverdome Nov 24, 2024

Brucefan24 Tom Cotter Comedian Tom Cotter has taken the comedy scene by storm since finishing as runner-up and becoming the Breakout Star from Season 7’s "America's Got Talent." He lost to a dog act, but don’t hold that against him; Tom was the first comedian ever to be a finalist on the show and was the highest finishing human being on the show that year. In August 2013, AGT asked Tom back to perform as a special guest star (along with Train) and then again to host “The Season 8 AGT Snapple Viewing Party.” In January 2019 Tom was again invited back to the AGT stage - this time to perform against the best of the best AGT performers from other years and around the world in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” In one the most talked about sets of the entire competition, Tom received a STANDING OVATION from the adoring crowd. Tom's had numerous prestigious television and radio credits. You can find him headlining all of America's most famous comedy venues from Alaska to China. Tom is also a regular on Fox News Channel and co-starred on an episode of CBS’ “The Good Wife.” Tom came out with his first book, “Bad Dad: A Guide to Pitiful Parenting” in February 2016. It is a collection of jokes, gags, one-liners and pithy bad advice for fed-up parents everywhere. Whether it be comedy, voice-overs, or acting, Tom Cotter gives it everything he's got. Tim Conniff An open mic night at a club in Doylestown turned out to be the experience that started Tim Conniff down the professional comedic road. That night, Tim experienced what he calls an “I can do that” moment. For him, comedy isn’t about the pay or applause. Rather, he says he is “an advocate for personal growth and embracing new experiences.” He encourages his audience to seek new challenges and to discover their own ‘I can do that’ moment,” which makes him just as much of a motivational speaker as a comedian.  Ian H The Vapors were on form with an outstanding set that fortunately rescued the gig following a dire performance from the Wot Nots. Seeing middle aged men trying to be anarchic is a bit embarrassing . I say middle aged, one of them, a white guy performed the entire gif wearing a black face mask complete with dreadlocks at the front. It was like being transported back to the 1970s. Fortunately Messrs Fenton, Fenton, Smith and Bowes made up for it with a tight and loud set of old and new that brought the house down. the vapors / The Wot Nots Nov 24, 2024
