Georges A. Gauthier Franz Ferdinand There’s this thing that sometimes to legacy bands. As they reach middle age they sort of become a lounge act cover of themselves. Still, those early songs still crush 22 years later. Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Viagra Boys What a deeply in-sexy group of fat middle-aged men. But from the tail end of their set, they rock and have great 0 Fs given vibe which immediately gives them cool points. Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Mt Joy Abut what you’d expect from the pedigree (Opened up for The Lumineers. ) sound good, play well. Your basic folk/americana/souther inflected indie rock. They an aren’t adding anything to the movement which started 20 years ago. Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Angine de Poitrine One of the most hyped bands in Montreal and on my corners of the internet. I’ve bailed on seeing them twice. But I’m glad I finally did. They live up to the hype. The whole alien angle adds theatricality to the stellar (pun intended) playing. I will definitely see them again Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Bar Italia Plagued by technical difficulties of the B stage. We lost about 10min of their show and it put them in a bad mood though they seemed to channel it well into an angry and rocking set. The bands is great. Love the alternating leads. What a seductive front person. Her dancing is quite mesmerizing. Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Wolf parade Obviously one of my favourite bands. I caught less of the sh than I wanted in order to rush to another band I haven’t seen as often. I wasn’t happy with the sound quality. A bit jangling. Of course the crowd didn’t seem to know who they were. Osheaga 2026 (Day 2 of 3) Aug 02, 2026

Georges A. Gauthier Geese They aren’t conventional live. They have an old-school jamming vibe to the way their interpret their songs. it’s sloppier (except for the drummer who is tight as a Swiss watch) and frantic and quite different from the album versions. Remarkably, Cameron Winter’s voice is just as melodic and affecting. It’s its own thing and it’s fantastic. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier The XX They have become much better performer in the years since I saw them last (Admittedly, it has been 17 years!) Romy has developed into a far better singer and Jamie is more dynamic, playing more percussions and relying less on samples. Cool light show rig too. But it would appear there best music is still from their first album. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier The neighbourhood Maybe some people consider this rock. It was pop as far as I’m concerned. And it was pretty lame. The kind of crap you suffer at a festival as you wait for the next band. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Olivier Forest I was a bit distracted by the terrible sound of the drums. But aside from that, the rest of the band sounded good and harmonized well. A little bland musically for my tastes. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Wet Leg Unfortunately the sound was poorly mixed. Voice was nice and clear, but the rest of the band was washed out. Mid-act the bass drum was adjusted way too loud. Rhian has been working on her choreography and arms but she gave an overly rehearsed performance that had a weird low-energy. Overall not nearly as good as the last show. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Wolf Alice The whole bands rocks. They have a very polished rockstar presence. But Ellie remains the principal attraction. Pun intended. She sounds great and looks even better. But they have too many ballads. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
Georges A. Gauthier Wunderhorse Above average alt-rock with obvious 90’s grunge influences. They played well and sounded good. In fact, They got better throughout the set, but nothing to really catch my attention. Osheaga 2026 (Day 1 of 3) Aug 01, 2026
